Meet The Team
Alejandro Rivera
Business Development/Designer
Alejandro attended the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture in Scottsdale, Arizona as an apprentice in 1984-1985. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Universidad Iberoamericana - Campus Santa Fe in Mexico City in 1990.
Alejandro has been involved in the design build industry for more than 20 years in Mexico and Texas. His design-build experience with turn-key projects includes high-end residential to low income housing, corporate offices, and education facilities. His extensive experience in the construction field allows him to achieve high level design and ensure top quality construction work. His dedicated attention to detail, and commitment with the projects from start to finish has gained the client’s preference.
Laura Baiamonte , AIA, NCARB
Laura has more than 25 years of professional experience in architecture, practicing both in her native country of Peru and the United States, and participating in research studies in Japan.
Her design experience has involved hospitality, senior living, and residential architecture, from high-end luxury to low-cost housing projects.
Laura is fluent in English and Spanish, holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Ricardo Palma University in Lima, Peru, and was a research student at Tohoku Koggio University, School of Architecture in Sendai Japan.
In the year 2000 Laura migrated the US to work in a design firm in DFW. Since then Laura has worked for several high end hospitality firms and added exciting projects to her portfolio.​
Laura earned her NCARB (National Council of Architectural Registration Boards) in 2018.
In 2019 Architect Laura Baiamonte and Interior Designer Shelley Bouck created 1 Common Ground's brand. The name represents the summit of professionals with very different backgrounds that meet and create exciting designs and solutions. It was in 2020 when Mexican Architect Alejandro Rivera joined the group and together took the ideas to the next level. 1 Common Ground LLC was born in the middle of the pandemic as a 100% remote firm. The firm embraced the technologies that allow for working remotely, and new staff joined the firm from the US and abroad. 1 Common Ground forged a culture that balances personal life and work, without taking away professionality and reliability.
